Fête de lEscalade is a traditional festival in Geneva, Switzerland, commemorating the citys successful defense against an attack in 1602. Held every December, the festival features costumed processions, historical reenactments, and music. Locals celebrate by consuming chocolate cauldrons, symbolizing the Marmite used in the battle. The event culminates in a grand parade through the Old Town. It’s a festive tribute to Geneva’s history and resilience, providing visitors with an engaging glimpse into Swiss tradition and valor.
