Koninginnedag, also known as Queens Day, was a national holiday in the Netherlands, celebrated annually on April 30th. While it has been replaced by Kings Day on April 27th, the essence of the celebration remains the same: a nationwide festival of music, markets, and merriment. In Amsterdam, the city transforms into a sea of orange, with street parties, canal parades, and vibrant open-air markets. Visitors can enjoy traditional Dutch food, live music, and dance along with locals celebrating in their national color. It’s a jubilant experience filled with Dutch spirit and community.
