Rathayatra, or the Chariot Festival, is celebrated in various parts of India, most famously in Puri, Odisha. This vibrant event usually occurs in June or July and commemorates the journey of Lord Jagannath, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Massive wooden chariots carrying the deities are pulled through the streets by devotees, accompanied by chanting and music. The festival promotes community participation, offering visitors a unique glimpse into Indian culture, spirituality, and tradition, all within an atmosphere of devotion and celebration.
