Gion Yamakasa is a thrilling summer festival held in Fukuoka, Japan, from July 1st to 15th. Its famous for the exciting float races where teams of men, clad in traditional happi coats and loincloths, carry elaborately decorated yamakasa floats through the streets at breakneck speeds. The event dates back over 700 years and draws enthusiastic spectators eager to witness the spectacle and cheer for their favorite teams. The festival also includes various cultural activities and rituals, highlighting Fukuokas rich heritage and community spirit.
