Ecuador celebrates Día de Muertos on November 2nd, a festival similar to the Day of the Dead in Mexico, dedicated to honoring deceased family members. Traditional practices involve preparing special foods, especially the beloved guaguas de pan (bread figures) and colada morada, a spiced purple drink. Families gather to share stories, create altars, and visit cemeteries to decorate graves with flowers. The festive atmosphere is filled with music and dance, showcasing Ecuadors rich cultural heritage, making it a meaningful experience for those who participate.
