Up Helly Aa is a fiery celebration held in Lerwick, Shetland, Scotland, on the last Tuesday of January. This Viking fire festival features a procession of costumed participants, known as guizers, who march through the streets carrying torches. The highlight of the festival is the burning of a full-sized Viking longship, symbolizing the end of the festivities. The event is complemented by traditional music and community gatherings, making it a unique blend of history, culture, and community spirit.
