Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a vibrant Mexican festival honoring deceased loved ones. Celebrated in Oaxaca from October 31 to November 2, the event is a fusion of pre-Hispanic and Catholic traditions. Families create elaborate altars, called "ofrendas," decorated with flowers, candles, and photos. The streets come alive with parades, music, and dancers wearing traditional costumes and face paint. Visitors can experience the rich cultural heritage and colorful rituals, gaining insight into Mexicos unique perspective on life and death, and celebrating in a spirit of remembrance and joy.
